Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable, skilled and customer-focused Retail & Rental Assistant to join our team for the 2024/25 winter season. In this role, you will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service, selling winter sport accessories, setting up and managing rentals, and maintaining an organised store environment. The position requires someone with a passion for winter sports, excellent communication skills, and a valid work visa for Japan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers and assist them with their inquiries, and provide expert advice on winter sports gear and accessories.
- Retail Sales: Sell ski and snowboard accessories, clothing, and equipment, ensuring that customers have the products they need for their time on the slopes.
- Rental Setup: Assist customers with premium ski and snowboard rentals, including sizing, fitting, and ensuring they have the correct equipment for their skill level.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure rental equipment is in good condition by performing basic checks, cleaning, and organizing the gear.
- POS Transactions: Handle cash and card payments accurately, using the point-of-sale system.
- Stock Management: Assist with inventory management, restocking items, and ensuring products are displayed neatly and attractively.
- Store and Equipment Maintenance: Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment, ensuring the rental area is well-kept and equipment is ready for use.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth daily operations and provide the best customer experience.
- Ad-hoc Duties: Assist with opening and closing procedures, handling stock deliveries, and any other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Valid Work Visa for Japan
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional attitude.
- Experience with winter sports (skiing/snowboarding) and a willingness to learn about products and equipment.
- Good communication skills in English (Japanese skills are an advantage but not required).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and handle busy periods.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and peak season hours, including early mornings and evenings.
- Previous retail or rental experience is a plus but not necessarily required.
- A proactive attitude, good team player, and willingness to assist wherever needed.
